Cerebrovascular diseases include a whole series of pathologies affecting cerebral vessels. It is a type of sub-speciality on a neurosurgery and complex neurological level and requires vast experience in this field and a multidisciplinary team.<\/p>\n
In general affectation of the vessels may cause two disorders:<\/p>\n
Cerebral haemorrhage (Effusion)<\/strong>: with bleeding in a brain area. In these patients it is important to diagnose the cause of the bleeding to prevent as far as possible that it should re-occur in the future. One of the pathologies that must be rejected is vascular malformation (aneurysms, arterio-venous malformations, etc.) which require a highly specialised team for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.<\/p>\n Cerebral infarction (lack of blood in an area of the brain)<\/strong>: in the same way as haemorrhages the factors causing the cerebral infarction must be studied to prevent it recurrence in the future. A multidisciplinary team (Neurology, Neurosurgery, etc.) is essential for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.<\/p>\n Cases demanding urgent treatment, whether infarcts or haemorrhages, require medical care by a specialised team that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
